This indie drama has some charming moments, but the final product feels less like a cohesive narrative, and more like a series of events that are barely tied together. The film’s premise isn’t really anything all that new, and there’s not really anything here that elevates the material. The performances are all solid, but the characters, while likable, aren’t all that memorable. The best way I can describe this film is that it’s a pleasant little diversion that’ll charm you and keep your interest while watching, but it’s unlikely to have a lasting impression. And I think part of that is because the film is kind of disjointed when it comes to its plotting. There’s probably an excellent film that could’ve come out of this, if the script had gone through a couple more rewrites. As is, this is a fine film that is enjoyable enough, but has little else to offer beyond that.
