This seems like a weird cartoon to select as the first Looney Tunes cartoon I review. But perhaps it’s fitting that my decision is a little, well… looney. This is a more than solid Daffy Duck and Porky Pig pairing, this one involving Daffy Duck in the part of a door-to-door insurance salesman (talk about perfect casting). The gags in this short are great, and don’t just feel like rehashes of gags from other cartoons, and they help give this cartoon a unique identity. It also helps that they still elicit genuine laughs out of me, even after having watched this short probably a dozen times. The ending is a little predictable, but it does nothing to dampen what’s an entertaining little short, and one that admittedly holds some nostalgic connection to me.
