This film, I think, is trying to go for a sleepwalking or waking dream kind of feel. Instead, it kind of comes across as meandering and dull. There’s not really a lot unique here in terms of plot or presentation. The non-linear structure doesn’t really add anything to this film, except maybe to add a layer of confusion that quite frankly isn’t necessary. And if the film was trying to be shocking or provocative like other arthouse films, the film is too tame and sanitized to do so. And by the end, the film doesn’t really build up to anything, which I think was by design, but the film simply wasn’t competent enough to pull it off effectively. There isn’t anything really awful about this film, but there’s not really much to recommend about it either.
