“Fauve” (2018)

This is a haunting, unforgettable short film that will stay with you long after it’s over. One of the brilliances of this short, is that it progresses and escalates the situation naturally, and in a manner that’s different than where you were expecting it to go. It plays with your expectations subtly, ultimately culminating in the film’s surprising and jaw-dropping conclusion. The performances are great all around, it captures pretty well the mood of two unsupervised boys playing together, and the film is extremely well directed. Go into this as blind as you can and experience it for yourself.
