“The Gunfighter” (2014)

The premise of a western narrator that everyone can hear attempting to incite a shootout is an excellent idea for a short film, and this film truly capitalizes on it. The smart, well written dialogue, along with the dry performance of Nick Offerman as the narrator, means that this 8-minute short film manages to pack more laughs into it than most of the recent mainstream comedies. The set design is impressive, and the film is mostly solidly directed. The only real complaints I have is that the violence is distractingly and unnecessarily restrained, and the final joke could’ve been funnier. Other than that, this is a hilarious little short film.
