This is one of those bizarre films that you don’t think is really all that great as you initially watch it, but not only does it get better as the film progresses, but the more and more you think about it, the better and better it gets. While of course the film has been praised, rightly, for its incredible set design and special effects, it’s also a compelling story, and the characters are well defined. In a very short period of time, this universe is well established and feels like a real-life, breathing place. While the word does get overused quite a bit when describing films, I don’t think there’s a word that better fits this film than “unique.” In a good way.
