“Miracle” (2004)

Disney has released a lot of live action underdog sports films, and this one is easily the best. It’s very difficult to for me explain what exactly makes this film so incredible, because the film is a relatively straightforward underdog film. I think it works as well as it does because you can sense the passion and the love for this story that the actors and filmmakers had. It also doesn’t hurt one bit that the real-life story really is just as incredible as the film portrays. Of course, Kurt Russell is great, and Gavin O’Connor’s direction is simplistic, but effective. The film’s pacing is incredible. And of course, the film’s ending is one of the best endings to a sports film ever.
