Like most of Disney’s other animated films of the era, everything just clicks; the incredible music, the highly energized animation, the wonderfully written characters, and the great comedy. And of course, Robin Williams’ amazing and iconic performance as the Genie solidified that the character would be fondly remembered for generations to come. This is a straightforward adventure story told in the best and most entertaining manner possible. It’s intense, it’s gripping, and its flow is near perfection. The film is bereft of any lag, but its high energy and lightning quick pace is never irritating or disorientating. It holds up just as well as an adult then when I enjoyed it as a kid, and has earned its status as a classic.
