“The 15:17 to Paris” (2018)

This is a case of good intentions not equaling a good product. Having the real-life people play themselves in a biopic can work (The Rider) but it’s risky, and this film shows what happens when it doesn’t work. The men are heroes. But they’re not actors. On top of that, basing an entire film on an incident that only lasted 5 minutes was a mistake, as Clint Eastwood is forced to pad the runtime with an hour of uninteresting background. Easily the best scene in the entire film is the gripping third act that dramatizes the titular event. Save yourself an hour of your life and watch that on YouTube. Or wait for someone to edit this as the short film it should’ve been.
