This is a mostly effective, if ultimately unspectacular, workplace dramedy, that’s as good as it is primarily due Regina Hall’s excellent performance, as you can feel and sense her fatigue and stress every second she’s on screen. There’s a lot of relatability in the situations the characters find themselves in, the characters do have a good sense of camaraderie with each other, and while the film isn’t consistently laugh-out-loud funny, it has a decent amount of genuinely funny and amusing moments. I quite enjoyed the film’s slower, more thoughtful pace, I found the film to be quite likable and charming, and the film has an excellent final scene, one of the best I’ve seen for a slice-of-life dramedy.
