There have been a lot of buddy cop films with a premise similar to this one; the cop and criminal who don’t like each other, but have to work together. But this is the one that did this particular plot the best. Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin have great chemistry, bounce off of each other extremely well, the film is funny, the action is good, and the plot, in spite of a lot going on, manages to stay on the rails. It doesn’t have quite the name recognition of other 80s buddy cop films like Lethal Weapon or 48 Hrs. but it definitely deserves it. So, if this film managed to slip under your radar, I’d recommend checking it out as soon as possible.
